Dr. Nayla Altom Mohamed Ismail is a Sudanese optometrist, researcher, and educator with a strong commitment to advancing primary eye care. She is the founder of the Nilover Vision Initiative, author of two scientific books on primary and pediatric eye care, and the holder of a patent for an innovative eyeglass cleaning solution. She is currently preparing her third book, focusing on Teleoptometry, as a new step toward advancing global vision care. Her pioneering work focuses on integrating artificial intelligence in early vision screening, expanding teleoptometry, and empowering students during crises through remote education. Dr. Altom is currently pursuing an advanced fellowship in optometry and is a premium member of the Vision Science Academy (MVSA), actively participating in global conferences and scientific hackathons. With over a decade of experience and a deep sense of purpose, she is dedicated to bridging science, equity, and innovation in eye health—both locally and globally.
