Sudama Kharbind

This is me, Sudama Kharbind, a final-year undergraduate student at the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS), Kathmandu, Nepal, where I am pursuing my degree in vision science (Optometry). My academic journey has been shaped by a deep interest in community eye health and the clinical management of refractive errors. I have developed a specialized research interest in the growing global challenge of myopia. My work specifically explores the nuances of pseudomyopia and the broader spectrum of myopia-related complications. I have actively contributed to clinical research in this domain, resulting in two scholarly works. One paper has been successfully published in an international peer-reviewed journal, while a second manuscript is currently under review for publication. Eager to translate my academic knowledge into meaningful action, I am particularly interested in public health strategies for myopia control. I am seeking to collaborate with the Vision Science Academy as a volunteer within the Global Myopia Ecosystem. I aim to contribute to research dissemination, support educational initiatives, and participate in projects that address myopia prevention and management, especially within the context of South Asia. My goal is to work alongside global experts to help develop accessible and effective strategies for combating this leading cause of vision impairment.
