Sudama Kharbind

Optometry Student

National Academy of Medical Science, Bir Hospital

I am an optometry student at Faisalabad Medical University, Pakistan, with a strong passion for vision science and eye health. I am particularly interested in understanding the growing global burden of myopia and exploring strategies for its early detection, prevention, and management. During my academic journey, I have developed a keen interest in research, clinical learning, and community eye care. I aim to expand my knowledge by engaging with international experts and contributing to initiatives that promote awareness and evidence-based approaches to vision care. Volunteering with the Global Myopia Ecosystem is an opportunity for me to learn, collaborate, and contribute to global efforts addressing myopia and other visual health challenges. I am motivated to support programs that focus on education, research, and improving access to eye care services. Through this experience, I hope to strengthen my skills, gain exposure to global perspectives in optometry, and play a small but meaningful role in advancing eye health worldwide. My long-term goal is to pursue advanced studies in vision science and contribute to research and clinical practice that improves visual health outcomes.
