SPEAKER
Han Trinh
Clinical Optometrist, Associate Lecturer, and PhD Candidate
The University of Western Australia
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the landscape of modern eye care, offering new opportunities to enhance diagnosis, management, and research through evidence-based approaches. This presentation explores recent innovations and practical applications of AI in eye care, highlighting how machine learning and deep learning models are improving detection of retinal diseases, predicting disease progression, and supporting clinical decision-making. Emphasis is placed on the integration of AI into evidence-based practice, bridging the gap between technology, clinical expertise, and patient-centred care, and envisioning how AI can be harnessed to deliver more accessible and effective eye health services.
