London, UK – February 28, 2026 – In alignment with Low Vision Awareness Month, this year’s International Vision Science Week focused on enhancing the quality of life of individuals with low vision through education and advocacy.
Vision Science Talks (VS Talks)
Two expert-led sessions were conducted under the VS Talks series, centred on:
- Understanding Low Vision Rehabilitation
- The role of Orientation and Mobility (O&M) training
- Strategies to improve independence and daily functioning
- Clinical and community-based approaches to low vision care
This talk highlighted how orientation and mobility interventions empower patients to navigate their environments confidently, ultimately improving their psychosocial and functional well-being.
Awareness Initiative: Educational Reel
To expand outreach beyond academic circles, VSA launched an engaging educational awareness reel focusing on:
