Activities for World Vision Science Day | Snapshots of September 2026

Overview

In September 2026, Vision Science Academy carried out a range of educational and awareness activities under the World Vision Science Day initiative, with Visual Psychophysics and Neuroscience connection chosen as the monthly focus.

These activities were designed to encourage a better understanding across disciplines, raise awareness about science, and promote academic involvement in the areas of visual perception and sensory processing within vision sciences.

The Vision Science Talks

As part of the program, Vision Science Academy hosted a special session of the Vision Science Talks, focusing on Psychophysical Assessment of Visual Function in Cerebral Visual Impairment.

This session allowed both students and professionals to explore how psychophysical methods are used to measure perception and link personal visual experiences with data that can be measured and analysed.

Social Media Campaigns

Vision Science Academy also utilised social media to increase awareness and understanding in the field of Visual Psychophysics. The content was created to break down complex scientific ideas into formats that are engaging and easy to understand for students, professionals, and the broader vision science community. These digital efforts were intended to foster curiosity, support scientific learning, and demonstrate the importance of Psychophysics in the wider field of vision sciences.

Through these activities, Vision Science Academy continued to work towards improving scientific communication, promoting interdisciplinary learning, and encouraging public engagement with new developments in vision sciences.
