Speaker Bio:-

Dr. Ashima Goyal Sharma is a passionate ophthalmologist, educator, and advocate for evidence-based myopia management. Originally from Ambala, Haryana, she completed her MBBS from Gian Sagar Medical College, Punjab, followed by an MS in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC), Ludhiana.
With a keen interest in pediatric eye care and visual development, Dr. Sharma pursued an advanced Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, under the mentorship of Dr. Ramesh Kekunnaya, an internationally recognized leader in the field. This rigorous training laid the foundation for her expertise in managing complex pediatric and neuro-ophthalmic conditions while deepening her understanding of childhood vision care.
For the past eight years, Dr. Sharma has been practicing at PC Sharma Eye Hospital, where she has devoted a significant part of her clinical work to myopia management. At a time when myopia is emerging as a major global public health challenge, she has been actively involved in adopting and promoting contemporary strategies for myopia control, with the goal of preserving long-term visual health in children and young adults.
An active participant in academic ophthalmology, Dr. Sharma has presented scientific papers at multiple state and national conferences, contributing to professional dialogue and the advancement of eye care practices. She strongly believes that collaboration between ophthalmologists and optometrists is essential to addressing the growing burden of myopia and improving patient outcomes.
Through her clinical expertise, commitment to lifelong learning, and dedication to patient-centered care, Dr. Ashima Goyal Sharma continues to inspire both colleagues and patients.
