This talk will focus on Meares-Irlen Syndrome (MIS), a visual perception disorder that affects reading and other daily activities. The speaker will provide an overview of MIS, including its causes and symptoms, and explain how it affects children in their daily life, including their ability to learn and perform in school. The latest research on MIS and its diagnosis and treatment will be discussed, including the use of colored overlays, filters, and special lighting. Attendees will learn about practical strategies for supporting children with MIS, including working with teachers and schools to ensure their needs are met. By the end of the talk, attendees will have a better understanding of MIS and the steps they can take to help children with the disorder.
